This isn’t a typical podcast episode – it’s a mini episode entirely about my recent Stitch n’ Bitch Knit-Along (‘KAL’). Our KAL project was a toe-up sock. Can you believe it? This episode is literally busting at the seams with handmade Christmas present inspiration. I’ve decided make the vast majority of my Christmas gifts this year, so I thought it might be helpful to share some of my present ideas with you. Also you’ll hear about my latest creative obsession – Pinterest. Finally, the Guernsey section of today’s show is all about the town of St Peter Port. In this episode you will learn some fascinating facts about the Guernsey knitting trade. For example, did you know that Mary Queen of Scots was wearing white stockings, knitted in Guernsey, on the day she was executed? Also it is (apparently) illegal for men to knit during daylight hours in Sark! Find this, along with the usual crafty banter, in this episode of the iMake podcast. This is a mini episode of the iMake podcast, so not in the normal format. The podcast is all about PMC – precious metal clay. I attended a fabulous workshop put on by the local College yesterday and was so chuffed with the work I produced I just had to share the experience. While I was there I interviewed Tony, a professional jeweller who was helping out with the class, as well as Fiona, Tracey and James, who all took part in the class. This podcast includes those interviews, along with some information about precious metal clay. Welcome to episode 6 of the iMake podcast. In this episode we will drool over a brand spanking new craft magazine, learn about the Guernsey pound and hear about iMake’s recent creative exploits (of which there are many!) So pour yourself a glass of red wine, grab your current work in progress, and let’s indulge in some crafty chatter. This podcast episode features a number of interviews from my recent creative weekend away in Jersey. I attended a scrapbooking workshop run by the ladies from Scrapagogo, called ‘GoGo Take Shape’. I had a fantastic time and in just one day I made an exciting project and 4 new layouts. I learned lots of new techniques. A fantastic day was topped off by a great night out with the girls ‘on the town’ in Jersey, followed by a luxurious manicure at our hotel the following day (The Royal Yacht – without a doubt Jersey’s swankiest hotel). Episode 4 already. Time flies when you are having fun. This is really just an experimental mini episode. I took the voice recorder (my iPad) to the iMake Stitch n Bitch at The Market Kitchen last week and recorded some interviews. I must state at this stage that I am no Michael Parkinson or Jonathan Ross, my interviewing skills are severely lacking. I also didn’t realise quite how frequently I say the words ‘actually’ and ‘fantastic’. I promise that I will get better – practice makes perfect (or so they say). Episode 3 of the iMake podcast introduces you to hand-stamped jewellery making. It also includes a Guernsey French lesson, so go on, learn something new… you know you want to! Welcome to the second iMake podcast. In this episode we indulge in some creative crafty chatter about cards and cake and other things that do not necessarily begin with the letter C! I initially thought that this would be a monthly podcast, but I have had such lovely feedback from listeners, and I enjoyed creating episode one so much, that it may end up being released fortnightly. So watch this space… The first iMake podcast! In this podcast there will be some chat about your host (by way of introduction of course) and a little about the podcast master plan. We will cover some recent iMake creative exploits and also experience some of the culinary delights of Guernsey. This is a short advertisement for my podcast – just 30 seconds or so.
