Local Crafters: InkBison

InkBison 5

This interview is the next installment in my series of interviews with local crafters.

I am delighted to introduce you to Gina aka InkBison.  Gina and I were at school together but we have not seen each other for… well… more years than I care to remember!  (Feeling old…!)  So it was a lovely surprise to get an email from her about her brand new crafty project.  It’s been an absolute pleasure interviewing her.

Local Crafters: Maggie and Mabel

Maggie and Mabel

I am planning a series of interviews with local crafters at the moment so hopefully this will be the first of several.  (Incidentally, if you are a Guernsey crafter interested in being featured on the iMake blog, please drop me a line).  Lisa and Sarah are sisters that share a passion for craft.  They formed Maggie and Mabel last year to share their gorgeous handmade creations with the world.  They make a wide range of products and everything has a lovely, homely feel.  Their products include cards, framed cross-stitch pictures, covered notebooks, blankets and (my personal favourite) jars of crafty bits and bobs with a pin cushion on the lid.  Maggie and Mabel have very kindly offered to sponsor next month’s blog giveaway, so keep an eye out!

As we reach the end of a busy, busy year, I thought it would be nice to do a ’round up’ blog post featuring some 2011 iMake blog highlights!  This post will be in 2 parts, otherwise it will get too long.  Here are the first 6 months of 2011; please click on the various links in the posts if you’d like to reminisce with me.  Enjoy!

I just thought I’d do a little ‘shout out’ to see if there are any creative types out there who would be interested in writing a guest blog post for iMake.  Guest blogging is a really fun thing to do and it’s a nice way to show off your writing and creativity.

Interview with Amanda

Yarn

I have another interview for you, this time, with the lovely Amanda.

Amanda has many strings to her bow.  When she isn’t busy making things for her Etsy shop, she writes an excellent craft blog and presents her own craft podcast – Craft Life (it’s fab).  You might recall that I played her promo on a recent episode of the iMake podcast.  I hope you enjoy finding out more about her through the iMake interview.  Take it away, Amanda…

Interview with Kate

Modern Quilt Wrap

“Modern Quilt Wrap” knitted in 2009 by Kate

As you’ll be aware, recently I’ve been interviewing a number of crafters, bloggers and podcasters that I admire and enjoy the work of.  I’d like to introduce you to Kate.  I ‘met’ Kate (in the virtual sense of the word) through Jesse, the original inspiration for my sock yarn blanket.  Kate has a fascinating craft background and also writes 2 fantastic blogs.  Kate is working on a wonderful charity project too that you might be able to get involved with (more at the end of the interview).  Thank you Kate for providing such a fabulous interview…

The iMake Interview

Microphone

In an attempt to showcase interesting crafters, bloggers and podcasters and also to share the handmade love, I have published several iMake interviews recently.  A few blog readers made the crazy suggestion that perhaps I should interview myself.  Well I rather like that crazy idea so here goes.
