In yesterday’s blog post there was some talk of ‘the promise of biscuits’. I thought it would be rude not to share my biscuits with you! Here are a few ideas for making gift tags out of simple luggage labels! Enjoy… Here is a tutorial for one of the cards I included in a recent Christmas card-making workshop. It’s a really simple card – suitable for inexperienced card-makers. It’s the card on the far left of the image above. You can find a tutorial for the button tree card here (card on the far right, above). As promised, here is a tutorial based on my first attempt at lino printing. I am printing on fabric, but you can print on anything you like – just make sure you pick the right ink. Now Autumn is well and truly here, it’s time for warming, hearty dinners. One of hubby’s favourites is chilli, not least because I tend to make a large batch and put at least half in the freezer. This recipe came from my mother-in-law and has been tweaked a little along the way. I hope you like it. Image details – Santa Christmas Gift Tags by AForestFrolic, via Flickr I thought it would be a nice idea for me to do a short post linking to existing iMake tutorials for items that would make good Christmas gifts. I have focused on items that are fairly quick and easy to make. I hope these links are useful… It’s all about food in my household at the moment. I’ll be back to my traditional knitting/sewing/etc craft this weekend, all being well, but for now, it seems my blog is something of a food fest. I have become mildly obsessed with conquering my fear of yeast cookery, ever since I couldn’t quite master Guernsey Gache. So this time I thought I’d have a go at making bread from a packet. Basically the mix is all the dry ingredients and you make the bread from that. You can use these bread mixes to make bread by hand or in a bread maker. I opted for ‘by hand’ and this is how I got on… I have been inspired to get my sewing machine out recently. I am not a great sewer (sewist, seamstress?) but this is a really easy project and doesn’t require you to be too neat! Many of you will know that I love working with lavender (usually in oil format, check out my lavender healing salve) but I also like dried lavender. This lavender eye pillow is really relaxing – just place it across your eyes and chill out. It’s nice to use, if you do yoga, at the end of a session (during relaxation). It can also be popped in the freezer to cool it down or warmed in the microwave for 20/30 seconds to heat it up (be very careful doing this – make sure it is not too hot!) |
