If you are a regular iMake blog reader or podcast listener you will already know that I am a big fan of Toft Alpaca. Cast your mind back to Knit Nation (listen to this podcast or read this blog post for a recap) and you may recall Kate and I falling in love with the world’s softest, fluffiest pom-poms. Well the pom-poms in question came from the Toft Alpaca Shop. You can imagine my glee when they agreed to write a guest blog post for iMake. I was even more delighted when they agreed to sponsor next month’s blog giveaway (watch this space!) Thank you so much to Carrie and Kerry from Toft for their hard work in this post and their generosity.
So without further ado, I present a fascinating blog post from Toft Alpaca (be warned, this post contains some seriously cute alpaca photos…)
This interview is the next installment in my series of interviews with local crafters.
I am delighted to introduce you to Gina aka InkBison. Gina and I were at school together but we have not seen each other for… well… more years than I care to remember! (Feeling old…!) So it was a lovely surprise to get an email from her about her brand new crafty project. It’s been an absolute pleasure interviewing her.
I am planning a series of interviews with local crafters at the moment so hopefully this will be the first of several. (Incidentally, if you are a Guernsey crafter interested in being featured on the iMake blog, please drop me a line). Lisa and Sarah are sisters that share a passion for craft. They formed Maggie and Mabel last year to share their gorgeous handmade creations with the world. They make a wide range of products and everything has a lovely, homely feel. Their products include cards, framed cross-stitch pictures, covered notebooks, blankets and (my personal favourite) jars of crafty bits and bobs with a pin cushion on the lid. Maggie and Mabel have very kindly offered to sponsor next month’s blog giveaway, so keep an eye out!
This is the second part of my 2011 Round Up covering July to December – I hope you enjoy it! You can check out yesterday’s round up (the first half of 2011) here.
As we reach the end of a busy, busy year, I thought it would be nice to do a ’round up’ blog post featuring some 2011 iMake blog highlights! This post will be in 2 parts, otherwise it will get too long. Here are the first 6 months of 2011; please click on the various links in the posts if you’d like to reminisce with me. Enjoy!
A while back I did a workshop on flash fiction hosted by a writer called Dan Purdue. The workshop was part of the Guernsey Literary Festival. Dan wrote a Christmas ghost story called Evergreen back in 2009, but just recently he had a go at recording himself reading it. I wanted to share his story with you because I think it’s fab. I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think it’s interesting to explore different types of fiction, so worth sharing. Dan also does a great job of reading it – he has a nice voice. There is some very mild bad language in the story, so you have been warned. Please don’t listen if you are offended by occasional mild swear words. Also there is a slight blip in the audio about 12 minutes in. You can find Dan on his blog, here. Enjoy!
It’s been a while since I’ve published an iMake interview on the blog. So I am delighted to introduce you to Hannah, the lovely Guernsey lass behind Lovelypop. I hope this interview will be the first in a short series of interviews with Guernsey crafters. Enjoy…
I just thought I’d do a little ‘shout out’ to see if there are any creative types out there who would be interested in writing a guest blog post for iMake. Guest blogging is a really fun thing to do and it’s a nice way to show off your writing and creativity.
I really don’t blog enough about jewellery making. Which is a shame, as it is a craft I really enjoy (not least, because I love wearing jewellery!) So I was delighted when Claire from Beads Direct offered to write a guest blog post on the subject, particularly as it includes links to lots of free tutorial videos. I am all about sharing crafty resources.
I am delight to introduce a fabulous guest blog post from my good friend and scrapbooking guru, Chloe. She is also a friend of the iMake podcast and most recently featured in Episode 18 – Picture Perfect and Episode 21 – In a Spin. Chloe is training to be a midwife but always makes time for craft and is a regular craft blogger. You can find her blog on WordPress, it’s called Sparkly Shoes are Faster. Take it away, Chloe…
