First Ebook Project: Research

Ebook ideas

In my last podcast I mentioned that I was planning to write an ebook this year.  I have joined a fabulous online class about ebook publishing hosted by the fabulous Sister Diane from Craftypod.  Check out her other online classes here.  It’s week 2, and I need to do some research.  What on earth am I going to write this book about?  Well, handmade crafts seem to be a good starting point.  But what am I going to focus on specifically?

I thought it would make sense to ask you, my readers, for some input.  So if you don’t mind, I’d be really grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete my poll, below.  Feel free to share it on your various social networks.  I intend to keep the poll open until the end of the month to collate as much feedback as possible.  I’d really appreciate your feedback on this.  Thank you so much :-)

How about creating a collection of the most favorite blog posts from the past year, adding in a bit of content that is similar but you’ve never posted, and then sell it on your sidebar. Once the book is finished, delete it from the web, so if anyone wants it, they’d need to buy the book. It’s sort of an extension of doing what you love. I’m sorry I couldn’t put this in your poll…the space didn’t allow enough words, and I’m a wordy gal. :)

    • Thanks Chris! That is really helpful :-) I am thinking about doing my first ebook free based on existing content (perhaps tutorials) and working up to a paid version of completely new stuff. I love the idea of using some of my top blog posts. I’d ensure that even the free ebook had some new content!

Thanks for your input, really appreciated :-)

  • Happy New Year, Martine! Gee I had intended to send you a greeting over the holidays and didn’t make it. But nice to know so many others weren’t as slow! Glad you had a good and restful break. Listened to the podcast last evening. So delightful and such a nice companion as I knit away on my current project. I love your podcasts and always enjoy the Guernsey segments.
